This part costs almost nothing. The CDC says to store at least 1 gallon per person per day for 3 days, and a 2-week supply if possible. For four people, that's 12 gallons at the least and 56 if you can. Fill what you can, and keep a filter for when it runs out.
What this plan can't do
The straw removes 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa. It doesn't remove viruses, chemicals, heavy metals or salt. The radio has no automatic alert: you tune it in. The sleeping bag traps body heat and doesn't create it. The kit has one biscuit ration, about a day, so pack your own food.
